WHAT EDITORS DO

A good editor, the one you hire, is hands-on, working closely with you during the entire process. They will go through your pages together as a team, with frequent email and voice communications. They work for you and with you, and your choices always govern. For example, I’ve helped over 30 writers achieve their editing, polishing, and publishing goals since 2012, and edited over 5,000 works of poetry and prose in workshops. I’ve written and published 9 books of my own ranging from memoir to spirituality, to small business, and poetry. Over 275 of my topical articles on current issues are published online at https://bahaiteachings.org/author/rodney-richards/

So someone you hire must have proven experience, and credentials. They should give you quality independent critique and suggestions, editing and formatting of text and images. They, or you, can or may be able to publish your books and ebooks with ISBNs or copyright registration. Your needs and voice always come first. You are the final determiner of every word and every comma on your pages, and of what, how, and when you publish. You control all steps in the process. Full rights always remain with you.

Our Mission

ABLiA Media helped writers achieve their goals. We worked timely, cooperatively, and honestly toward those ends. Clients approval and success meant our success.

I helped writers as both coach and editor, reviewing and improving manuscripts with line, copy, and developmental edits.

  • Grammar, syntax, punctuation, vocabulary, word choice, and spelling were enhanced, as well as:

Storyline/Plot Point of View Character Development Tone, Voice & Dialogue Style

Pace & Setting Readability Structure Focus Tense Target Audience

  • All formatting and graphics or photos were optimized for the greatest visual and emotional effect for trade or whatever size book wanted.

  • ABliA Media was also a publisher. Some manuscripts were beautifully and quickly self-published on Amazon and elsewhere, in paperback or ebook.

[I thank] Rodney Richards... for his excellent editorial work, patience, prompt responses and for always considering first and foremost the writer and her work.
